Client Operator - Sheffield Based - Salary %A316.4k - possibly more if have freight experience Company Our Client, established for over 35 years, is a world class company built upon innovation fuelled by experience and investment has established them as one of the market leaders for international freight in the UK. Import or export European or worldwide, they provide an effective single source solution for the management of all their clients freight requirements. Operating the UK's largest European road freight network, they provide full coverage across the whole continent. In addition their nationwide branches offer integrated logistics services with specialists handling air and ocean freight, warehousing and export packing. Hours are 9am : 5.15pm Monday to Friday Main Purpose of Job To provide high levels of customer service and operational support to the branch client base by processing and monitoring shipments. Main Responsibilities They need someone who is enthusiastic & resilient and capable in a very busy environment. They will very much consider someone who wants to develop and progress into the Account Manager Sales role also. Either way they need good sales & admin skills Primary function for role is to support the Account Managers (sales people in Branch) in all aspects of there role Quotations Taking bookings Liaising with customers Dealing with customer queries Managing accounts in absence of account managers Negotiation to win orders. Liaising with Operational departments Liaising with Transport dept. Arranging collections with transport department / hauliers Negotiating rates with hauliers and freight forwarders Preparing export documentation Charging files Passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries Liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers Creating files both manually and on the computer system Advising customers of arrival of cargo into the UK Liaising with transport department Charging files Passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries Limits of Authority No authority to incur expenditure or act as signatory for expenditure or credit notes on behalf of the company without specific and prior written approval. General To take part in any developmental activities as required by the company. Carry out any other relevant duties as requested by the Branch Manager to ensure the effective performance of the branch. Responsible for maintaining and complying with health and safety legislation (reference TFAM induction document) thereby minimising the risk to themselves and other persons. Person Specification At least 2 years Experience within a customer driven environment over the telephone Excellent Communication Skills Team Player PC literate GCSE Maths and English (A-C) Experience with dealing with Business to Business Clients queries and complaints Had no more than 2 jobs within the last 2 years You must be eligible to live and work in the UK to be considered for this role.
